Monique Akar pass away July 4th 2009 after a long fight with leukemia. Her legacy of art will continue, and her business is relocating to Oregon. She was loved and will be missed.

Yes. The discount depends on the size of the order. Bigger orders get a bigger discount. Call 503 255-5751 if you have questions.

- Will you draw my dog?
It takes from 40-60 hours to create a drawing, so it gets expensive. There are many other skilled artists that specialize in portraiture. Our focus is on a correct generic breed image that we can place on many products.

- How are the products made?
Once the pen and ink drawing has been created--40 to 80 hours of drawing, not including the reserch time.
For paper products, the image is reproduce and printed on notecards and pedigrees.
The ceramic items are silk screened with a special ceramic ink onto a decal then fired. Color is added a layer at a time by Monique with each layer being fired separately.
Fabric, Fleece, T-shirt are all silk screened with black or brown ink. This water based ink provides a good solid image without being rubbery. This ink bonds to the fibers and does not peel off or fade.
All items are created in Portland, Oregon.

- Help, the shopping cart will not take my order!
Relax, take a deep breath. The shopping cart does not hate you, but being a computer program has to do things in a particular order.
First find your product, Akita 1 hats. If you click on the buy now button, you will go directly to the page with the Akita hats. Down at the bottom of the page is a bar with a purple reviews button, and a purple Add to cart button. Click on Add to cart
This will take you to the shopping cart and your selection with a quantity of (1) should be there. If you want more than one, change the number in the Quantity box then click the Update button. Not clicking on the Update button will result in the computer thinking you only want one of the item.
Available Options:
Lets you make choices about size, color, ink color, or quantity. For example, when you purchase fabric or fleece there are options for color, ink color, and yardage fractions. To order 2 1/2 yards of white Akita 1 fabric, first go to the Akita 1 fabric page, go down to the bottom, select white: black ink: 1/2 yard. Add to the cart. Then change the quantity from 1 to 2 and click on Update. Now your shopping cart should reflect the new quantity and price.

- Can I use the art on my business card?
No, or at least not without permission. All the images are copyright by Monique Akar, and can only be used with written permission.
Contact Teri if you wish to get permission to use her art work.

- If I order 4 yards of fabric will it come in 4 one yard pieces?
Unless you contanct Teri yardage is in once piece. So 4 yards will be one long piece. Of course if you need the fabric in pieces we can do that too.

- How long will it take to get my order?
Two to four weeks or less, depending on product availability and distance. We are located in Portland, Oregon.
